HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
Crate was established in 2012: the Olympics were in full swing just over the canal, and Hackney Wick was changing fast.
Before we made The White Building our home, it had a colourful past as a print factory and a squat. Crate's canal-side bar and restaurant was built with the help of the local creative community. The result? A space full of up-cycled pallets, bed-springs and railway sleepers – and one that perfectly reflects the creative ethos in the area.
The White Building
As well as being home to Crate Bar and Pizzeria, our renovated warehouse is home to resident artists, Yew (our Founder Neils sparkling water brand), and soon - Uncle Hon's BBQ.
