Crate Wood Wharf; Reimagining a New Space

We have the keys to the new site at 14 Water Street, and renovations are on!

We’re reimagining the new space in Crate style, and it has been all hands on deck for the refit. Progress updates can be viewed below (most recent at the top).

Rewiring the electrics

Now the bar front is in, the wiring of electrics has started. We're just a couple of weeks from opening now, so the pace on site has picked up.

The bar is in!

With the new bar in place, it's time to start reconstructing our back-of-house space. The pizza oven has been delivered, and is awaiting install.

Ready for install

The new bar is going in! The team have assembled this solid number 4 times now. It's super heavy, and lining each sleeper up perfectly is a slow going task. This install will be the first major milestone of the build.

Crate furniture factory

There has been a lot of behind the scenes preparation prior to getting the keys.

We leased a second warehouse unit in Hackney Wick to use as a workshop for the Wood Wharf build. From there we have been custom building furniture and fixtures to deck out the new bar.

Some closer details of the materials for the new bar - which will be made of repurposed railway sleepers. Keep an eye out for the cute but mighty olive green springs we're using as spacers.

A first-look at the new spot

Keys secured, first team visit to the new site. A lot of work to do, to take this previous restaurant and transform it into our signature Crate Bar and Pizzeria.

We're heading to Wood Wharf!

Outside our new home in the E14; 14 Water Street, Wood Wharf. Just a 5-min walk from Canary Wharf station, and steps from the water.
