A love letter to Hackney Wick

Look anywhere around Hackney Wick, and you'll see that our home is changing, rapidly.

We’ve been here in Hackney Wick for 14 years now. Long enough to remember when the streets felt quieter, but brimming with possibility. Long enough to have seen warehouses turn into homes, strangers into neighbours, and wild ideas into realities.

We opened our doors as not just a place to drink, but something built by the community, for the community. A place to play, to unwind, to be ourselves. No expectations, no pressure, just people coming together.

And that’s still what we are.

Because even as the skyline shifts and the pace picks up, some things don’t move so easily. The canal still flows past us, steady as ever. The laughter still spills out onto the street. The beers still pour. The pizza still comes hot from the oven, shared across tables full of familiar and new faces alike.

We feel the tide of change, of course we do. But we’re not drifting with it. We’re rooted here.

Rooted in the people who’ve been with us since the early days. Rooted in the artists, the misfits, the locals who give this place its soul. Rooted in the idea that spaces like this matter, not because they’re trendy, but because they’re the thread between what was, what is, and what’s still possible. Keepers of local identity, if you will.

We’re still independent. Still yours.

And while new things rise around us, we’re here to remind you we're here, holding it down. As a cultural anchor. A meeting point. A home. A place to just be.

East London isn’t just where we are.

It’s who we are.

And Hackney Wick; we love you.
